Just to balance the "what's most annoying' thread..

Leaders and followers:
- when you respect the breaks in the music
- when u shine on the music, not on the steps u ve learnt.
- when u add ur own little personal touch. Ur own move...

Leaders:
- when you wait for your partner when they've decided to add in a little extra step/styling, getting back on their feet after they ve tripped ont heir own toes...
- when u aknowledge ur partners efforts and moves and appreciate/laugh/smile/copy/slag her...

Followers:
- When u do a little more than following, and really use the fact that u don't have to think about the whole leading thing to get into the music and make it look better
- when u hide the leaders mistake by attracting the attention on something else/messing
- when u aknowledge ur partners efforts and moves and appreciate/laugh/copy/slag him...
- when u can add other styles than sexy to ur dancing

That's me for now. But what do ye like?

I'm so not "down wit u kids".

What does "ragga stylie" look like when it's at home???

(Feeling every day of my age today!)

lol.. basically i just throw my ragga/dancehall moves into salsa if I can get away from the guys.... probably total blasphemy.. but hey.. i'm creating a new style.. you'll all be doing it soon ...  (em or not!)

Cool.  Sure isn't that what salsa is by it's very definition;

A mixture of various dance styles.  And still constantly evolving.

I like when my partner connects with me, via eye contact (friendly, not pyscho-scary-stary), takes a few bars til we gel before going on to dazzle me with his great moves. I love when he gives me another chance if I don't follow properly first time. I like a nice firm hand on my upper back. I LOVE when a guy interprets the music, using hesitations or syncopated steps (especially in bachata). I love to think a guy enjoyed the dance and had fun with me.

how about bachata with the drama of tango in the styling...with the right song
hipshake replied on 11/10/2008 @ 11:01

I see that the bachata/tango fusion is the direction Tony Lara is trying to take things.  Having never seen it put into practice, I can't really comment.  Don't think it would be my cup of tea though.

I love watching a good tango, but that's about as far as it goes for me.  A good bachata dance on the other hand - count me in!

Bachatango is pretty popular in Italy, but in my opinion one per night is enough........
