Send Message
Our next party in Dun Na Si, Moate (Midlands) will be on Saturday the 29th of November.

Guest teacher: JB Baldazza from France, drummer and percussionist specialised in afro cuban music.

* Workshop with JB Baldazza and Vanessa:

3-7pm (We will have a 20 minute-break around 5pm)
Content:
We will play live music with the different instruments involved in Salsa music.
We will play the basic rhythms and patterns that are typical to Salsa.
We will learn to hear them in songs that you know.
We will also learn how to interpret them while dancing.

This will improve:
- Your timing
- Your understanding of Salsa music
- Your musicality
- Your ability to interprete the music

And... Don't worry! We won't keep you sitting down for hours. We will practice body movements and salsa steps on each pattern/rhythm to make you feel the music and remember it.

* Party: 9pm till late.

PS: Food:
There is a restaurant that just opened in dun Na Si, on the other side of the building.
It is not very big. So if anyone would like to book a table there please let me know in a Personal Message.

Wow sounds Fantastic!

How much does it cost?

Any dancers going from Dublin? I'd love to go if I could get a lift.

Sounds good and it is a great opportunity! I think that is how dance classes should begin, with musicality education! It is an amazing feeling to dance like one with the music AND with your partner. Dancing is more than just screwing figures! Sometimes i dance for hours without any figures if the music and the partner is right. Like last Saturday in the Havana Tapas Bar!!! We had so much fun.
But I'am not sure if people will understand their need to learn to understand the music without learning a new trick!?
I think everyone should go there, I whish i could go, maybe i will make it somehow ...
So If someone is driving please let me know.

I like the way you think !
Salsa is very complex... but this is its beauty...

Just thought I'd add info for anyone who is thinking of coming by transport:

Train to athlone. (give us a call and we ll organise a lift for you from train station to Moate): about 1 hour.
http://www.irishrail.ie/home/  check  the dublin-galway line.

Buses stop in Moate: http://www.buseireann.ie/ check the dublin-galway line.

There are lots of lovely places to stay in Athlone.
Check Bastion Gallery B&B in the old town.
Or sheraton - radisson hotels right in the centre of town.

And a lot of people driving back to town after the party. So we can organise a lift for you if you let us know at the door.
