Anything happening with these? Must have been tons of nominations: "Nominations will close on the 1st of September 2010 and voting will commence once the nominations for each category are counted."

Well, personally I found this to be too much - answering 15 questions + going to my hotmail, clicking on the validation link, lifes too short   

Perhaps just one or two categories, say "best club", "best local instructor", "best international"  and using your web-id or and/ip address to track votes would have gotten more votes?

It is still on, we just had a problem organising a venue for this time of year (given the number of christmas parties etc.). We are planning to send out an update email in the next week or so once we line up a few things but in the mean time the nominations are still open.

Oh and Hugh, if you read the first paragraph of the nominations page it says: "Please nominate your favourite in one or all of the categories listed below. Feel free to leave any of the categories that do not interest you blank." If you wanted to you could just nominate in the best instructor for your area and nothing else

We added the email tracking because it's more difficult to attempt to vote multiple times this way but we do use other means to detect multiple nominations and disqualify them (and have had to disqualify a number of nominations!) to try and keep it as fair as possible.

Hmm... I'm really one of those keep-it-simple-if-you-want-people-to-use-it types, I know from experience people rarely read the instructions, and dont expect to need to - this is the era of self explanatory everything   15 questions is still a little overkill imo    No offense meant, just a suggestion
