honestly I agree with u...Floridita is a very nice place and has good music as well but..no people dancing! but two weeks ago I went there and there was a fee entrance of 10euro because there was live music..

where is   floridita?

From what I found out

Friday...no entrance fee

Saturday... 10E after 10 pm

Abbey St, Dublin 1, walk into the small street on the opposite side of the VHI building

I've only been in there once or twice. It's a nice venue and great to get a live band playing but it's simple....people won't pay the entrance fee. From memory the drinks were expensive (but then again, they aren't cheap anywhere else). The Mint Bar on West Morland Street is nowhere near as good but it's free. People vote with their pockets. Good to see they have dropped the entrance fee. I'm going in tonight, will see how it goes.

I've been going to Floridita since they opened but I stopped recently and the reason is the music. They used to have different bands there - some of them were hit, some were miss but at least if one band wasn't great you knew that there will be a change in a couple of weeks time.Unfortunately they don't have guest bands anymore. The band that is there now is simply not that great - their songs a soooo  stretched - they last about 15 minutes each and it is just a drag... I've seen this band playing in various venues around Dublin and depending who and how many members of the band are playing they can be either really good and really boring (15-20 min songs). Unfortunately the team in Floridita seem to play the same songs all the time and they seem to stretch them to incredible lengths...
