Class and Club Announcements

Due to the number of threads relating to new / ongoing classes and clubs we have had no choice but create this thread for the purpose of announcing all classes and clubs. Anyone wishing to make an announcement about their classes or clubs should do so in this thread.

If you wish to make a "special announcement", such as; a guest teacher or a once off special offer then it is acceptable to start a new thread. Any new threads or posts repeating the same information will unfortunately have to be deleted.

We regret having to take this action but feel it necessary as we created the "Clubs and Classes" section for this purpose and not the forum.

Regards M&M

Musicality workshop - Part 2 - with Vanessa

This workshop was such a success that we have decided to follow up with a second one.

In the first one, thanks to our guest musician JB, we have learnt all about Salsa, its origins, we have seen videos and costumes, heard the live instruments and played with them... We have also danced on live percussions.

This time, we will see how this can make your dancing better!
Let's put all that into practice!!

Time:   24th January 2009
   Workshop:     4.30-6.30
   Party: from    9pm

Price:
   Workshop only:         €20
   Party only:               €10
   Workshop & party:    €25

Venue:    Dun Na Si Heritage Centre, Moate

Workshop contents:
We will:
- listen to the instruments & learn to hear them in songs that you know
- learn how to move on each instruments
- learn how to add all that to your dancing.

This will improve:
- your timing
- your styling
- your interpretation of the music

This is a follow up on the previous workshop.
But if you missed the first one, don’t worry! You DO NOT need any previous knowledge. Come along!

Yes, from what we hear it is closed and the classes that were running there on Wednesdays have now moved to 4 Dame Lane but we know very little more than that. Anyone else heard anything further??

Check out the Events page for details of a day of salsa with Angus Peters in Belfast. There will be classes during the day and a party at night in the Ramada Hotel.

The party will be a great night of salsa music, without any cheesey pop and sometimes gets played at Latin parties. Music will be from Angus himself, Colm McCann and the debut of DJ Andy.

Good excuse for a trip to Belfast :-)
